Adapté is an attempt to slow down.
Our first collection of just three pieces was carefully curated, designed, redesigned and produced over two years. We have committed to only a limited production of unique items made with lasting appeal, attention to detail and quality in mind. Our niche is not the mass market.
These pieces are meant to be worn over and over again. Fast fashion may satisfy our desire for a quick and easy fix to capture the passing trend of the moment, but that is not our market. Here we hope to rewrite that story.
Carefully curated, carefully produced, made with intention.
SUSTAINABILITY
Adapté was created out of our desire to do better.
This mission requires an ever-changing way of doing things. If you have any additional insight on how we can be better, please email me directly at liv@adapte-la.com.
Fabric:
What does responsibly sourced mean?
This is fabric we believe to be the least harmful option for the environment. There are some incredible companies introducing new sustainable alternatives that we hope to incorporate into our next collection.
What is deadstock fabric?
Deadstock fabric refers to leftover or unsold fabric. This is generally excess fabric that was left over after a brand's production run or fabric that went unsold from a mill.
Production:
We happily produce all pieces in Los Angeles, California. We feel this is the most responsible option in terms of transparency. It’s extremely important to us that we can physically see where and how our pieces are being sewn to assure proper working conditions and assure living wages are being met. We encourage other brands to follow the same guidelines as we have seen these standards can be easily promised but rarely met by overseas manufacturing.
